‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Trailer Breaks Record for Most Views in 24 Hours

So by now, I’m sure most of you have seen the first teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. But, if you happen to live under a rock or just actually had something important to do on Monday and didn’t get a chance to see it, you can check out the trailer below:

As soon as it dropped, the staff here at MCU Exchange went crazy. The trailer struck the right balance of humor and grit, and it had so many callbacks to the original art by Jack Kirby that we couldn’t watch it just once. The tone is in line with the original comics, and the trailer immediately distinguishes itself apart from the other installments in the Thor franchise. The cast looks phenomenal as well, and we got a good look at some of the newcomers in the film. From Jeff Goldblum‘s Grandmaster to Tessa Thompson‘s Valkyrie, the movie looks like it will have a great blend of old and new characters, plus having more Hulk in our lives is never a bad thing, especially when he’s in a gladiator arena in what promises to be one of the best rematches in the MCU. The trailer also didn’t spoil too much, as we still have yet to see Bruce Banner, Odin, or Doctor Strange as of yet. We couldn’t be more excited for the movie, and apparently a lot of other people are as well, because the new trailer just broke both Marvel and Disney’s record for most views for a trailer in the first 24 hours.

To give you some perspective, Beauty and the Beast held the previous record for Marvel parent company Disney, with its first trailer boasting 127.6 million views in its first 24 hours. On Marvel’s side of the equation, Captain America: Civil War held the previous record at 94 million views. Ragnarok managed to top both records with a whopping 136 million views within the first day. The trailer has also been met with mostly positive feedback, and we can’t wait to see more.

Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters on November 3, 2017 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
