New Evidence Suggests The Warriors Three Will Reunite For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Although Marvel Studios is often noted for their secrecy surrounding all of their projects, details surrounding the currently-filming Thor: Ragnarok have been making the rounds since long before the cameras started rolling. Most of that information came from Mark Ruffalo who was confirmed by Deadline to be joining the cast of Ragnarok before Marvel even released an official cast list. However, some of the information also came from coy responses of some former Thor castmates.

While their names were noticeably absent from the official cast list Marvel released, actors Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), and Zachary Levi (Fandral), alongside actress Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) have often hinted at their characters returning for the third Thor film. In fact, although they were never able to outright confirm their returns, it seemed highly likely that the Warriors Three would be around for Ragnarok. And now, thanks to some Instagram posts teasing the presence of two of the three Warriors Three, their return appears to be all but confirmed. In between filming, Stevenson was spotted getting some new ink, while Asano openly posted a photo of himself in Australia on his Instagram page. The only actor missing appears to be Levi, at least for the moment.

It’s worth noting that we were told Levi is, in fact, in Australia working on Ragnarok. At the time, we were unable to provide confirmation. However, with both Stevenson and Asano having since been spotted? I can only imagine a photo proving Levi’s presence in Australia will surface soon enough.

As for Lady Sif, Alexander has previously hinted that Marvel Studios and NBC, the studio behind her television series (Blindspot), were in the process of working things out so that she’d be able to make an appearance in Ragnarok. Given that she’s the lead of that series, there are some kinks to work out schedule-wise, but I imagine some sort of confirmation regarding Alexander’s return isn’t too far behind.

Thor: Ragnarok, which will be directed by Taika Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Also appearing in the film are Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Surge, Idris Elba as Heimdall, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. Ragnarok will hit movie theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
