Welcome to the MCU Weekly Pulse, a rundown of all the stories throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we didn’t cover in News or Features this past week.
The Grandmaster Prepares For Thor: Ragnarok
We haven’t heard much from Jeff Goldblum in the months since it was announced that he will be joining the all-star cast of Thor: Ragnarok as the Grandmaster. This week, he showed that he is taking the role very seriously. Doing his homework with some classic comics.

The Luke Cage Countdown Continues
Last week, show runner Cheo Hodari Coker started the countdown to Luke Cage by sharing behind=the-scenes pictures, with notes to tease us about what we’ll see. This week was no different.

Peter Quill And The Punisher
By now, everybody has heard about the extra-large cast coming together for Avengers: Infinity War. Of course, it isn’t likely that the characters from the television side of things will be allowed to appear in the feature film, but if they were, Chris Pratt has a special request for who he would like to fight alongside his character of Peter Quill.

Yondu Concept Art
Michael Rooker has brilliantly brought Yondu to life in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. This week, director James Gunn shared an early look at the concept behind his character.

Civil War Goes Big
Before we see any of the large-scale moments in the MCU Feature films, they are carefully crafted by teams of artists and production designers. This early sketch shows a great moment from what eventually became the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War. The small image of Spider-Man in the background really gives it a neat feel, with the other characters providing some scale of how giant Giant-Man really is.

This week was also the worldwide release of Captain America: Civil War, where we first saw Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther. Boseman posted on Instagram that he was helping market the movie, this week.
Agents of Softball
Two weeks ago, we got our first look at the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. softball uniform. This week, Clark Gregg gave us a look at the entire team.
It’s hard to tell who all is on the team. I’m just hoping “Softball” isn’t an acronym for another government agency! Maybe the Strategic Office For Team Building And Light-hearted Laughter? That’s probably too fluffy for the new 10 PM time slot. Come up with something better in the comments!

Black Panther Buzz
This week, Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bib Iger was speaking at Ithaca College’s “Spark at Park” where he made a comment about the support behind the upcoming Black Panther movie.

If you’re in the need of some laughs, this should do the trick. Actress Leslie Jones decided to livetweet Captain America: Civil War the other day, and while I’d suggest checking out her Twitter feed for the whole thing, it’s really her comments concerning Black Panther that stand out.

at 1st I was like “are they arresting Capt. Amer?!” Then when I saw him I was like man fuck Capt America. Cat Dude! pic.twitter.com/uDmdUdjgOD

Iron Fist Close To Wrapping Production
It appears as though Iron Fist is nearing the end of production on the show’s first season. One of the stunt performers from the series posted an image of the shirt that was given to the stunt team as a wrap gift. This, of course, doesn’t mean they’ve wrapped already. The show is still filming (as shown in the image below), and will probably film for about another week before wrapping officially.
A reddit user was also able to snap a quick and rather blurry photo of Iron Fist himself, Finn Jones, on set.
The series will hit Netflix sometime in 2017.

Charlie Cox Visits A Children’s Hospital
Fellow Defender, Charlie Cox, took some time out of his busy schedule to visit a children’s hospital recently. While there, he handed out a supply of Daredevil Funko Pop! figures. You can check out a photo of Cox at the hospital below.

While it may be a bit before we get the third season of Daredevil, that hasn’t stopped the official Twitter account from continuing to hype the series. Over the week, they release motion graphics of both Daredevil and The Punisher.

Make sure to follow both D’Esposito, as well as the Russo brothers, on social media as they’re sure to provide even more teasers before cameras officially begin rolling later this year.

Ritter Shows Off Her Jessica Jones Peabody Award
There’s no denying just how big of a success Jessica Jones has proven to be for Marvel. Not only did the series bring in the first ever Emmy win for Marvel Television, but it also nabbed the highly coveted Peabody Award earlier this year. Taking to Instagram, Jessica Jones herself, Krysten Ritter, showed off her newly arrived Peabody Award.
Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada got one, as well.
