Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi has posted a little advance glimpse of what appears to be a Gourd of Thunder banquet from what could only logically be a scene from the upcoming DVD extra Team Thor 2. The original Team Thor, which detailed what Thor was doing during Captain America: Civil War and introduced the other primary member of Team Thor, his roommate Darryl, was originally released at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con (and covered in this MCU Exchange piece).
MCU fans were immediately taken with the new team and wanted to see more, something Waititi hinted at may be in store in the near future. When the announcement of the *Doctor Strange Blu-ray was made it revealed the list of extras on the disk…including “Team Thor: Part 2”.

And, if Waititi’s photo is to be believed, a whole lot of gourds. As he notes in the tag himself:

It’s tough to determine what is going on in the scene, though it does seem like it could be a planned full team event with Baby Mjolnir’s high chair in such a prominent position (I had always assumed Mjolnir was older).

Theories of what’s happening? Speculating as we love to do here, I am going out on a limb and guessing that Thor has assembled a true Asgourdian celebratory repast for his new team and Darryl…once again…has let him down. What with his normal life, day job, and housework he seems to find more important, Darryl doesn’t often seem to have the team first and foremost in his mind.
Of course, I could be wrong…
The Doctor Strange Blu-ray release is scheduled for February 28, 2017…so we’ll find out for sure very soon.
